The hot weather will strike the south of France. Météo-France thus placed 42 departments on orange alert for “heat wave”, this Sunday, August 10.
Météo-France’s meteorological vigilance card draws up a clear observation: the southern half of the country is affected by a vigilance for “heat wave”. 42 departments are thus placed under orange vigilance.
The heat wave will be very substantial since temperatures close to 40 degrees will be felt from “the east of the new Aquitaine in Rhône-Alpes, via Occitanie, the interior of Provence, the Auvergne valleys and going up to the west of Burgundy and the south of the center”, according to meteorologists.
Here is the list of the departments concerned: Ain, Allier, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Ariège, Aude, Aveyron, Bouches-du-Rhône, Cantal, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Corrèze, Dordogne, Drôme, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Gironde, Hérault, Isère, Landes, Landes Loire, Haute-Loire, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Lozère, Puy-de-Dôme, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Rhône, Saône-et-Loire, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Var, Vaucluse, Haute-Vienne and Andorre.
Météo-France also placed seven yellow vigilance departments for “heat wave”. These are Côte-d’Or, Creuse, Deux-Sèvres, Vendée and Vienne.
