“It’s never seen”!

The level of our underground water reserves is worrying on a part of the country and therefore, there have never been as many water restrictions as during this summer 2025.

Surface drought currently concerns three-quarters of France, with an exceptional classified level in the south-east of the country, the Pyrenees and a large part of the Southwest.

On the side of the water tables, the BRGM shows in its latest bulletin that the level of our water reserves is low at very low on the entire Grand Est region, Roussillon, part of the center, the Breton tip, the Norman tip and the extreme north.

Consequence of this drought which will inevitably worsen until the end of the summer: ” We have never had so much restriction on the use of groundwater and vigilance: more than 50 % of the territory is assigned by drought orders in a tablecloth: unheard of since the start of follow -up in 2012 »Announcement Florence Habets, hydrogeologisthydrogeologist For the CNRS.

In question, ” a precipitation deficit during thewinterwinter and spring, main periods of recharge of tablecloths ” but also, ” High temperatures, which lead to more evapotranspiration and less recharge. We have thus noted downward trends for 50 years of recharging in a site in the Grand Est ».
