The new Barryland thematic park in Martigny dedicated to St-Bernard dogs was officially Varni on Thursday afternoon, in the presence of the president of the Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter. The places have already been accessible to the public since June 26.
Godmother for 5 years of a St-Bernard named Zeus, born in 2020, Karin Keller-Sutter has a real love for quadrupeds. ‘From my childhood, I grew up with dogs, I was still one until January 2019, Zeus came to see me twice in Bern, including in my election as president of the Confederation (note: last December),’ she summed up, after a private visit of about 30 minutes. ‘The St-Bernard are among the symbols of our country, such as cheese, chocolate or gold.’
The foundation replaced its old historical museum with a modern, bright and interactive space. This extends over 2400 square meters. Visitors have the possibility of observing these dogs in their natural environment and attending the care provided to them.
