Air Canada on -board agents are starting their last voting day on the granting of a strike mandate to their union.
The vote, which started on July 28 and ends on Tuesday, comes after the Air Canada section of the Canadian Public Service Syndicate (SCFP) concluded the conciliation process without reaching an agreement.
The union represents more than 10,000 on -board agents in negotiations since the start of the year.
Despite sustained efforts, particularly within the framework of the conciliation process with a mediator appointed by the federal government, key issues, such as remuneration, unpaid work and pensions remain unanswered, according to the union.
Air Canada has warned that the vote does not mean that a disturbance will occur, specifying that a possible strike can only take place after a period of reflection of 21 days following the conciliation period of 60 days.
In a statement published on July 25, the airline said that it “is fully prepared to work at the conclusion of a just and fair convention with the SCFP, which recognizes the contribution of its on -board agents and ensures the long -term competitiveness and growth of the company”.
