American actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, known for his supporting role in the ‘Cosby Show’, died after having accidentally drowned in Costa Rica, the police of this country announced on Monday.
The 54 -year -old actor had played Theo, the younger of the Huxable family, in the famous 80s series. He was appointed to the Emmy Awards, equivalent to the Oscars of American TV, for this role.
The actor died on Sunday ‘by asphyxiation’ after drowned on the beach of Cohuita (Southeast), according to a report by the Costa Rican judicial police.
‘A current apparently pushed it offshore’ during his swimming, according to the report. The actor was rescued by people on the beach, but members of the Red Cross then found that it was ‘without vital signs’.
According to the American celebrity press, Malcolm-Jamal Warner was on vacation at Costa Rica. Contacted by AFP, its representatives did not immediately respond.
The ‘Cosby Show’ marked a whole generation in the United States, by time the fate of an African-American family in the upper middle class.
After the series, Malcolm-Jamal Warner continued his acting career. He notably had his own soap opera, entitled ‘Malcolm & Eddie’, and appeared in the series ‘Sons of Anarchy’.
