A man of Lévis worn missing was found 24 hours later, abused and disoriented, in a row of Yamachiche in Mauricie. A money debt would be at the heart of this case.
Many questions remain unanswered in this nebula story that started in the evening on Sunday when the Lévis police (SPVL) received information concerning the possible kidnapping of a man.
SPVL and Sûreté du Québec (SQ) procedures were then started, without success.
On Monday, his vehicle was finally found parked in Trois-Rivières, “but there was nothing abnormal in terms of the vehicle,” says Éloïse Cossette, spokesperson for the SQ.
A few hours later, the elderly victim at the end of the twenties contacted the authorities with the help of a citizen, while he was in a campaign rank in Yamachiche.
When the authorities located him, he suffered from injuries that did not put his life in danger. The man was still transported to the hospital center to receive appropriate care.
Torture and leakage
According to our information, the individual is a man known to the police and is from Lévis. We hesitate to speak of organized crime on the side of the authorities, but it is emphasized that a context of money debt would be in question.
An “isolated building” of Yamachiche was closely monitored by the authorities, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, before having combed a fine by crime technicians.
“The victim would have been abused there before fleeing,” says Cossette.
For the moment, no arrest has been made in this case.
The provincial police force has to determine the thread of events, he who is still poorly explained the reasons why man was found there.
