“Seriously” child injured: the police believed in an animal attack, a 17 -year -old teenager arrested

A 17 -year -old teenager pretended to be handcuffs on Tuesday for attempted murder and armed sexual assault after having “seriously” injured an 8 -year -old child, to the point where the police initially believed in “possible animal attack”.

“The investigation did not determine the cause of the victim’s injuries. If the first elements suggested a possible animal attack, the investigators did not exclude human involvement, “the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said on Thursday, initially reported by Global News.

On June 24, the police were called shortly after 9 p.m. for an 8 -year -old child missing in Quadeville, a city near Ottawa.

Except that, only a few hours later around 0.30 am, the child was reportedly located seriously injured, with “serious” and “potentially fatal” injuries, by the canine unit of the OPP, can be read in the press release.

At first glance, the investigators believed in an “animal attack”, to the point of warning “the parents of the Quadeville region to continue to keep their young children inside or under close surveillance” while waiting for additional tests.

Finally, the analyzes of samples taken from the injuries of the victim would not have “revealed any trace of animal DNA”, announced on Tuesday the OPP, specifying that it had got hold of the collar of a 17 -year -old teenager in connection with the case.

The suspect, whose identity is protected because of his young age, would have been formally accused of attempted murder and armed sexual assault on a person under the age of 16, can be read.

“The accused was placed in detention and must appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date,” continued the Ontario police.

Those who have video images or information are requested to contact the Ontario authorities at 1-888-310-1122, while a cash reward that can reach $ 2,000 has been announced.
