Luciano Frattolin, the father of the 9 -year -old girl found Morte in Lake George on Sunday, is accused of second degree murder and body concealment. He was arrested by New York State police and was detained in Essex County prison, according to the US prisoner register Vine.

The agents of the Warren County Sheriff’s Bureau have the call on Saturday, shortly before 10 p.m., of a man reporting the disappearance of his 9-year-old daughter near the 22 exit from Highway I-87, in Lake George, possibly following an abduction, said New York State police in a press release.
The child was identified as Melina Frattolin, a Quebec resident, and her father as Luciano Frattolin, Montreal businessman. They had been on vacation in the United States since July 11 and had to return to Montreal on Sunday.
The Warren County Sheriff Office initially conducted the investigation, it is specified in the press release. Over the course of this, the agents have identified inconsistencies in the account of the events of the father and in the chronology of the disappearance of Melina.
At a press conference on Monday, the New York State police captain Robert McConnell said that the removal track was fully manufactured by Mr. Frattollin. He testified that he had seen two men forcibly taking the girl in a white van. The accused has neither judicial history nor a history of domestic violence.
The Melina body autopsy will take place on Monday evening.
The little girl was found dead on Sunday in Ticonderoga, about 50 kilometers east of Lake George, near the border between New York State and Vermont.
The investigation was entrusted to the New York State police. For the moment, the police say that nothing indicates that an abduction has taken place and that there is no threat to the public.
New York State police did not immediately answer questions about the circumstances of Melina’s death.
According to the police, Mr. Frattolin and Melina’s mother have been separated since 2019. The little one lives full time with her mother.

Financial problems
Luciano Frattolin owes more than $ 150,000 on a credit card balance unpaid at the Banque de Nova Scotie. The banking institution claims nearly $ 97,000 from the company Café Gambella, of which Mr. Frattolin is the owner, and nearly $ 83,000 from the company Dépanneur Café, of which he is no longer the owner.
Since 2020, Mr. Frattolin has rented accommodation on his name on rue Saint-Bernard, which he sublets on Airbnb. In 2022, he entrusted the management to two people, who also had to pay the rent for the owner, according to court documents consulted by The duty. Mr. Frattolin continues managers who have never made the necessary payments.
In August 2024, the owner of the accommodation reported to Mr. Frattolin, by email, a delay in payment of around ten months, totaling $ 26,000. In the process, he ended the commercial lease which linked him to Luciano Frattolin.
Also according to court documents, the managers then said to the owner that Mr. Frattolin planned to empty his bank account and to flee the country, accusations that the latter categorically denies.
He claims to have launched this activity in order to be able to pay the alimony of his daughter. He now requests access to the accommodation to recover the winter clothes and the games of his daughter who are there.
