Two young people aged 16 and 18 were removed, sequestded and then found naked and seriously injured in a ditch, on the night of Sunday to Monday in Montpellier. The facts, which occurred district of the Martelle then near Lac des Garrigues, could be a settling of accounts. Their four armed attackers are actively sought by the police.
It is a scene of extreme violence that took place this Sunday, August 3, shortly before midnight, in Montpellier. Two young men aged 16 and 18 were indeed kidnapped, sequestded and then found naked, injured and prostrate in a ditch near Lake Garrigues, in the Hauts-de-Massane district. Four attackers are actively sought.
It all starts around 11:30 p.m., when witnesses report to the “17” the presence of a Peugeot 208 rugged in a ditch, at the intersection of rue du Pont-de-Latérune and rue du Mas-Prunet, in the Martelle district, west of the city. The vehicle, emptied of any occupant, has impacts of bullets and blood stains. Inside, two handguns and a charger are visible. If the applicants have not seen the accident, however, they indicate to the police having heard cries and a second car from the scene in all Berzingue.
Covered with bruises and wounds
A quarter of an hour later, a new alert is given, on the side of Hauts-de-Massane this time, north of Montpellier. And more specifically rue Pierre-Béghin, a stone’s throw from Lac des Garrigues, where a resident claims to have seen a Volkswagen Polo arriving at High speed. Four armed individuals went down there, supervising two entirely naked young people. The police immediately converge on it. On the spot, they discover the abandoned polo shirt, lit lights, with a rifle inside.
Time to do research on the vehicle that appears stolen, cries are heard, below this wooded area. It is ultimately in a ditch filled with brambles that they will discover two entirely naked young men, in shock, covered with bruises and wounds, especially in the face. Supported by the Hérault firefighters and the Samu 34 emergency artists, the two victims were transported to the Lapeyronie hospital center where they were admitted to intensive care within the resuscitation anesthesia department (DAR A). According to our information, their days would not be in danger. Their injuries testify to acts of particularly brutal torture and violence.
Note that faced with the potential threat represented by the fleeing attackers, the raid police were mobilized overnight to secure the area and try to find them. Unfortunately, research has remained in vain.
Distribution of drugs?
The first elements of the investigation would be oriented towards a settling of accounts. According to our information, the two victims are very unfavorably known to the police despite their young age. Investigators would favor the hypothesis of a dispute, possibly against the backdrop of narcotics. The damaged car scene suggests that the two young people were circulating in Peugeot 208 when they were hunted by the other four who would have struck them and bailed. Then they were reportedly extracted from their vehicle and embarked in the Volkswagen Polo trunk. A thesis not yet confirmed.
Obviously for the needs of the investigation, which was entrusted to the police of the Local Judicial Police Service (SLPJ), the two vehicles were seized. Findings were made by the Technical and Scientific Police teams. DNA analyzes, the operation of video surveillance cameras as well as telephone limits are underway to try to identify the four authors still on the run.
