Friborg engineer Aubry Cholleton has developed an interactive map to facilitate public transport trips. Isochrone.ch makes it possible to visualize possible destinations from a departure place in Switzerland by fixing a maximum journey time.
Aubry Cholleton demonstrates the operation of Its platform In the 12:45 am RTS. Child’s play: just configure where and when you want to leave. Cursers make it possible to select a time limit and a maximum number of correspondence. The card displays all possible destinations in the form of points of different colors depending on the duration of the journey. Certain modes of transport can also be removed.
“It’s a way for me to find new mountain excinations in the city center of Friborg,” he said.
Future developments
The engineer specializing in public transport has developed this tool for months in his free time.
“We are fortunate to have free access data on the Internet for transport in Switzerland, time grids and the list of stops in particular. This allows anyone to use them,” he explains.
Aubry Cholleton intends to refine his card. He wishes to integrate the points of interest there, for example ski resorts or hiking departures. And he assures that it will remain free.
