“It’s a considerable blow,” said a spokesperson for the regional munich criminal police office. There have already been more important cocaine seizures in the past, but it is rare that the police can arrest suspects at the same time as it seizes such a quantity. The gang has thus lost a commodity worth around ten million euros.
According to information available, a farmer had alerted the police on Monday evening after noticing several suspicious people, some of whom were hooded, in an isolated hangar located in the immediate vicinity of a highway in the Kitzingen region (Bavaria). These people fled to his approach.
The patrols nevertheless found two men inside and outside the rented hangar. They also discovered four vehicles registered for the most part in France, as well as several pallets containing metallic containers of particular shape, one of which was clearly a dark powder.
Drugs rather than explosives
Police officers first supposed to have seized explosives of automatic ticket distributors, but these suspicions were quickly dismissed by a drug sniff dog. The 200 kg of cocaine were seized and first two suspects, the 25 -year -old Swiss and the French, were arrested.
The second alleged trafficker, the 19 -year -old, was apprehended by the police on the road while he was driving a sports car registered in France. The three suspects were placed in pre -trial detention. The survey team, however, believes that other people are still involved, as well as sponsors. The international survey is underway.
