A hidden technical menu of Android has just been completely reorganized. This surprise update makes access to information on the phone simpler and clearer. A discreet change, but which says a lot about the direction taken by Google.
While all eyes are on Android 16 and its many new products, other more discreet adjustments appear behind the scenes. This new version of the OS has been launched earlier than expected and provides major features such as real -time notifications, improved calls for hearing aid users and a multitasking inspired by tablet computers. This version, already available on recent Pixel models, also introduces a new more rounded design and reinforced safety options. But in parallel, Google continues to refine certain advanced tools, which are often reserved for the most informed users.
Android versions have long integrated hidden menus accessible thanks to special codes entered in the telephone composer. Among them, ## 4636 ## provides access to detailed settings such as network locking or use statistics. Android 16 is not limited to major visible new products: the update also includes a redesigned design for notifications, clearer groupings and new protections for connections. In this context, Google discreetly revised a secret menu, by introducing a novelty called “Phone Information V2” to better organize all this technical data.
Android creates a new Phone Information V2 with separate tabs to control everything
According to Android Authority, this new section now divides technical information into four distinct categories: Device Details, Data & Network, Satellite and IMS. Each tab includes specific data, making reading much simpler for those who want to check the details of the network or the material components.
The appearance of a satellite tab is particularly surprising and suggests that Google is preparing future features linked to this type of connectivity, which is not very widespread on Android smartphones.
This reactions marks a desire to make this information more accessible, without displaying everything on a single confused page. The Phone Information V2 menu is not yet active for everyone, but it could be integrated into the next stable updates. In parallel, Android 16 brings together notifications, improves calls and makes multitasking on tablet more fluid, further reinforcing interest in this new version. These improvements show that Google continues to enrich its system, even in corners that few people usually explore.
