Apple would prepare to expand its playground beyond iPhone, iPad or MacBook to win in the world of connected domestic objects. The Californian giant was working on an unprecedented range of devices controlled by artificial intelligence, including a table robot, security cameras and an intelligent speaker equipped with a screen, according to Bloomberg information.
At the heart of this project, the table robot should see the light of day by 2027. Imagined as an interactive companion, it would embark an advanced and more “human” version of Siri, capable of conversing and following the user in his daily activities.
The device, which could evoke an iPad mounted on a motorized arm, would be able to reorient itself to maintain visual contact with its interlocutor. This concept succeeds older prototypes, including a mobile robot and a fixed model, already mentioned by the specialized press.
Apple would also work on a connected speaker with a screen, a sort of lightened version of the robot. Without articulated arms or conversational siri, it would focus on practical functions such as music reading, taking up notes, management of home automation devices or videoconferencing. The device would work with a new operating system called Charismatic.
Finally, the apple brand would plan to get into the domestic security cameras market. These would be integrated into Apple’s house ecosystem and would strengthen its supply in connected protection.
With these projects, Apple seems to want to establish itself as a key player in the intelligent home, a market still in search of maturity but promised rapid development under the impetus of AI.
