Aqueduct broom | Call to reduce water consumption in Longueuil and Boucherville

(Longueuil) Longueuil and Boucherville residents are called upon to reduce their “at least” drinking water consumption due to an aqueduct break on Thursday morning.

On the territory of the cities of Longueuil and Boucherville, a watering ban is also in force, while a boiling notice covers a portion of the arrondissement of Old Longueuil and the entire territory of the city of Boucherville.

These measures are imposed due to the rupture of an aqueduct conduct on Thursday morning. This breakage required urgent work on Boulevard Jacques-Cartier, in Longueuil.

The Longueuil agglomeration police service indicates for its part that Boulevard Jacques-Cartier is closed in the two directions between boulevard Jean-Paul-Vincent and Chemin du Tremblay.

The duration of the closure is unknown. The police ask the population to avoid the sector.

The City of Longueuil said that its technical teams are “hard at work in order to stabilize the situation, to identify the cause of the breakage and to plan the repair of the driving”.
