Archer Gaëtan Velay looks good in France

After qualifying for the French indoor championship in Agen, at the end of February, where he finished 9th, Gaëtan Velay, of the Compagnie des Archers de Chanac competed in his first French championship outdoors U21 man classic arc man (fire at 70 m), on July 21 and 22, in Riom. To be able to participate, he had to qualify by entering the cut of the best French French.

Between early April and early July, Gaëtan Velay participated in several competitions which allowed him to rise to 21st place in this ranking, thus offering him a ticket for the French shooting championship.

The first day was reserved for qualification shots for duels and the second, duels fire with direct elimination.

If the organization by the Riomian archers was perfect, the climatic conditions were not the most favorable for the shooters, since the wind and the rain were invited. Gaëtan Velay carried out a very good qualification shot (583 points) propeling him into 15th place and allowing him to enter the cut of the qualified to pull the duels.

In the 12th finals, he lost his duel against Nathan Mahaux, from the Banvou club. In the general classification, Gaëtan Velay ranks at a superb 17th place in this 2025 France championship. Meet in September, for a new season, which should once again be very exciting.
