Artificial intelligence: Torontoise Cohere is chosen by Ottawa

The Toronto Cohere was retained by Ottawa to help it to establish artificial intelligence systems (AI) within the Canadian government’s public service.

By press release, the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, and the Minister of Government, Public Works and Supply, Joël Lightbound, announced that he had signed a protocol of understanding with Cohere on this subject.

The government thus wishes to “explore the possibilities of deployment of AI technologies across Canada to improve public service activities and strengthen Canada’s commercial capacities with regard to AI use and export”.

“By working with Canadian innovators in the field of AI as cohere, we lay the necessary bases for a more efficient, efficient and productive public service, while ensuring that Canada remains competitive in this new digital era,” said Minister Solomon.

Founded in 2019, Cohere specializes in IA technologies focused on business security. The company designs advanced AI models aimed at solving problems that companies encounter. Oracle, Dell, RBC, Bell and Fujitsu are among its customers.
