Asetek Initium: new race simulation equipment arrives with a relatively affordable price and decent features

The race simulation is undoubtedly an exciting area, whose popularity has skyrocketed in recent years. Brands such that Simagic, Moza and Fanatec are well -known names in this area, and now Asetek seems to want to take a share of the entry -level cake with its line of recently introduced race simulation equipment, called initium.

Mainly intended for beginners pilots looking for entry -level race simulation equipment, the initium product line includes a wheelbase, a steering wheel, a pedal, as well as a cockpit. A group offer is also offered, from $ 599 for the wheelbase, the steering wheel and the pedals. For $ 450 more, the initium race cockpit can also be included in the group offer. It is interesting to note that the Moza Racing R5 grouped offer which also has a 5.5 Nm wheelbase and a 280 mm smaller wheel, is approximately $ 160 cheaper.

Steering wheel and wheelbase

The wheelbase of the initium benefits from direct transmission technology with a maximum torque of 5.5 Nm, which is a completely decent figure for beginners. Compared to the less expensive belt drive assignments, direct drive sets offer more flexible and quieter operation. People interested in an increase in power can use the overeating kit to increase power to 8 Nm, which is close enough to a real GT3 car.

The initium wheel, on the other hand, is a 300 mm plastic wheel with perforated handles for long -term comfort. In total, 21 entries are available, including two magnetic pallets. A diet indicator is also present. Of course, the sensations and quality of the product cannot be established without an independent test, but the product is very attractive on paper.

Brake and accelerator pedal game

Finally, the initium pedals completes the simulation equipment. Made of reinforced composite materials with glass fibers, the pedal is equipped with hall effect sensors, which is typical of its price category. As with other equipment, the performance and real sensations of the pedals, in particular the brake pedal, can only be confirmed after in -depth tests.

The range of initium products, as previously indicated, also includes a 2 in 1 cockpit, whose steel construction is announced as ultra-rigid. Of course, the wheelbase of 5 Nm can be fixed on an desk, but it is always preferable to mount the equipment on a simulation bench specially designed for this purpose, especially if customers plan to pass the wheelbase of their initium to 8 nm. As a 2 in 1 cockpit, the product is suitable for both GT races and formula races.

The price of the initium racing simulation equipment is as follows:

  • Shopping (5.5 nm): $ 349
  • Flying: 149
  • Brake and accelerator pedal game: 119
  • Cockpit 2 EN 1: 299
  • Siège the beginning: 159
  • Strong seat: 259

Cheaper alternative for beginners: Moza R3 set (currently $ 339 on Amazon)
