Attempted abduction in Mercier: from 6 to 8 suspects sought by police

The police service of the City of Mercier (SPVDM) requests public aid in order to find suspects linked to an attempt at removal in this municipality of Montérégie.

Last Sunday around 3:30 p.m., on Boulevard Salaberry Ouest, a group of four teenagers circulated by bicycle when a pale Gray Toyota Sienna Sienna skeleton van at their height.

The suspects, made up of 6 to 8 young men aged 16 to 18, first made inappropriate remarks. They then carried out several half-rays to return to the group, according to the police.

In the third maneuver, the sliding door of the vehicle opened and two occupants tried to grab a 12 -year -old girl who was driving with her friends.

Under the effect of the fear and proximity of the vehicle, the young cyclist lost control of her bicycle and fell on the ground, the police said by press release.

The van then continued its road to the west, towards Sainte-Martine.


After this incident, the SPVDM wishes to identify the vehicle and the occupants to try to advance the investigation.
