Audrey Werro broke the 800m Swiss record – RTS.CH

Audrey Werro broke the 800m Swiss record at the national championships in Frauenfeld. The Friborg, run in 1’56”29, which is the second world performance of the year.

Werro, 21 years old, clarified things in Frauenfeld with this new reference time which catapults it into the world elite. In its wake, Valaisanne Lore Hoffmann also achieved a superb race concluded in 1’58”29. A good omen before the Worlds in Tokyo (September 13-19).

The Friborg had already shone Wednesday in the rain at Athletissima in Lausanne, finishing 2nd in 1’57”34. She then missed 0’09 her Swiss record previously established in Poland in June (1’57 “25).

Angelica Moser also shone in Frauenfeld, in the Perche competition with a 4m80 jump. Only 3 athletes jumped higher this year outdoors.

La Zurichoise mastered the first 3 heights on the 1st test, before crossing 4m80 in the 2nd test. However, she failed three times at 4m90, which would have formed a new record in Switzerland. Moser won the title for the ninth consecutive time.
