A young man was seriously injured in Lugano during an altercation on the day of the national holiday. Five people were arrested, the Ticino cantonal police announced on Sunday.

The fight broke out shortly before midnight in the Botta district, according to the information provided. Police indicated that the reasons for this altercation were still inquiry.
On August 1, cantonal police officers and rescuers of the Green Cross gave first aid, in support of the Lugano municipal police. The victim, a 19 -year -old Swiss from Bellinzone, was then transported to the hospital on the ambulance.
Later in the evening, the alleged perpetrators, three minors and two 18 -year -olds, were identified and arrested, the police added. The investigation continued on Sunday to clarify the circumstances of the incident and was coordinated by the prosecution and the minors’ court.
