It is a pretty Jura delegation made up of around twenty athletes who will participate in the Swiss athletics championships this weekend in Frauenfeld. Some confirmed athletes will seek to reach one place among the best ten in their discipline, others are targeting the podium squarely. And then there are also those who are looking for experience at the highest level and who still make their ranges.
The biggest chances of medal are based on the athlete of the FSG Alle Jephté Vogel at the launch of the weight and on the adopted Jurassian Angelica Moser who seems untouchable to the pole. The added launcher is expected to fight with Bernese Stefan Wieland for gold. Two members of the FSG Bassecourt are targeting the podium but will have a lot to do: the Biennoise Rachel Pellaud has the 5th best personal time of the athletes in the running on 800 meters. Ditto for the vadais Mathieu Chèvre over 200 meters, but it is played in a pocket handkerchief and the shape of the day will be decisive for the young man of Bassecourt.
Many athletes in search of a feat
The mission promises to be more difficult for other athletes from our region. With her personal record at 11”59 by 100 meters, Alicia Masini (FSG Alle) is part of a group of ten athletes who have personal records which are held in 15 hundredths. However, these are quite far from the chronos of the favorites on the straight line Alja del Ponte, Salomé Kora or Géraldine Frey. The Jurassian can target the final if it is in good measures. The reference times of Kirtlène Dolce (FSG Courroux) over 1,500 meters – where the victory seems promised to the athlete of Sonceboz Joceline Wind – and Sofia Chételat (FSG Alle) on 5,000 meters can allow them to believe in a top 10 but it will be necessary to work.
Among men, Nathan Gyger (FSG Alle) will optimize his chances, he who is announced at the start of three events (100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters) with variable chances. Far from its ideal form, the Sprinter of the FSG Bassecourt Sylvain Chuard will start the straight line without great ambition in the face of the favorites that are Timothé Muhmenthaler or Bradley Lestrade, in particular.
