But Belgian surrealism is not just a story of weather or politics. It is first and foremost a question of state of mind. “Belgium is not easy to define”, recognizes the humorist. “But it is our country, with its too strong beers, its accents that go up and go down like an elevator on strike, and its humor, especially. Because with us, the absurd is not discomfort, it is a way of life.”
As for those who would risk making fun of our mother country, Sacha prefers to warn them:
We groan, we criticize, but not a Frenchman tells a word of way on our mayo or our city, otherwise we become a patriot like never!
