Bizanet and Villedaigne fires: an individual arrested after trying to flee the premises

A man was arrested in Aude Monday, July 28, on the sidelines of a fire that burned four hectares between Bizanet, Ornaisons and Villedaigne. The suspect was placed in police custody.

Thanks to rapid and massive intervention, the flames were contained. According to the prefecture, some 250 firefighters have been deployed, supported by four Canadair planes, two dash, two water bomber helicopters and fifty ground equipment.

On the morning of Tuesday, July 29, the situation was deemed “favorable” by state services. Thirty firefighters remained mobilized to monitor any recovery. The departmental 24, cut during the intervention, was reopened to traffic in the morning.
