Disturbing elements
This sliman track is not new. Since 2020, it has been carried by a retired gendarme and former member of the PJF, Jean-Pierre Adam. He devoted a book there in 2021: “Brabant killers : the neglected track “.
In a photo of 1981, Xavier Sliman thus wears a coat that looks like the coat that will be drafted in the Ronquières canal among objects abandoned by the Brabant killers.
Another disturbing element, Thierry Sliman was incarcerated between 1983 and mid-1985, a period when no fact was attributed to the Brabant killers. He was again incarcerated from mid-November 1985, after the last-and the bloodiest-killings.
Georges-Henri Beauthier, lawyer in the Dutroux case and the Brabant killings, died
The facts attributed to the Brabant killers, committed between 1982 and 1985, cost the lives of 28 people and injured 40 others. Fall 1985 was the deadliest: three dead in Delhaize de Braine-l’Alleud on September 27, five dead on the same day at the Delhaize d’Overijse and eight dead at Delhaize d’Alost on November 9.
On June 28, 2024, the federal prosecutor’s office announced that it intended to close the investigation into the killings because, he regretted, there were no more avenues to explore. He indicated that he would defend this position during a next council chamber on the regulation of the procedure.
The investigation into the Brabant killings takes a new turn: an old track is privileged
This announcement was a disappointment for many civil parties. They had the opportunity to challenge the indictment of dismissal which would be drawn up, by asking for additional acts of investigation before the Chamber of Indicts of Mons.
In January, it ordered homework on very specific facts: two brothers aged 7 and 9 had noticed before the attack on Alst two cars circulating at high speed. They had retained the plaque number. These investigation duties did not lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.
Brabant killings: “It is impossible to kill 28 people in impunity, I know what I’m talking about. Unless we have protection”
Other civil parties, defended by French lawyer Patrick Ramaël, submitted in March the request for additional inquiry duties concerning the Sliman brothers. The House of Makes had decided to give a positive follow -up.
