(North Vancouver) An explosive device damaged the front door of the office of the British Columbia Infrastructure Minister Bowinn MA on Friday morning, police said. An investigation is underway to determine if this violent incident is linked to an explosion that has occurred previously nearby.
Corporal Mansoor Sahak, from the Royal Canada Gendarmerie (RCMP) of North Vancouver, said that the explosion that occurred at 4:15 am in the office of Mme My had pierced the door and damaged its frame.
He added that the explosion “indicated the detonation of an explosive device” and that the mobile of the explosion was not clear. No one was injured.
“I do not know if it is motivated by political reasons. We do not call it this way, but we are studying all the possible avenues for the moment, ”said Sahak during a press briefing.
Traces of burn were visible on the office door, where a strong police presence was present on Friday afternoon.

Mr. Sahak indicated that another explosion had been heard at 2:45 a.m.re Avenue Ouest, and that the police sought to determine whether the two explosions were linked.
But no residue of the previous explosion was found and Mr. Sahak explained that we were unaware of “if it was an explosive device, a firecracker or anything else”.
Prime Minister David Eby explained that the police told him that an explosive device had been “deliberately placed” at the office of Minister MA.
He described the incident as “deeply worrying” and touched the way in which elected officials exercise their functions.
“I am deeply concerned about trends, which mainly translate into an increasing separation of elected officials and citizens they are supposed to serve, which does not benefit anyone,” added Prime Minister Eby at a press conference unrelated to the subject.
Corporal Sahak indicated that the police were looking for witnesses in North Vancouver, near the West Esplanade avenue, or having been able to film images of on -board camera or video surveillance between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Friday.

“Fortunately, no one was injured, but incidents like this can be very frightening,” she wrote.
Mme MA did not describe the incident and explained that because of the current police investigation, it could not provide more details on what happened, but she wanted to thank the agents intervened.
“I appreciate the concern expressed by the members of the community and I am grateful to serve a community as benevolent and compassionate,” she said.
The acting chief of the federal NPD, Don Davies, said, without giving details, that the incident was an “act of blatant terrorism”.
Davies said on the X social media platform that he was “deeply alarmed” by the incident.
“This act of blatant terrorism is an affront to democracy and has no place in our country. We are grateful that no one has been injured and hope that those responsible will be apprehended as quickly as possible, “wrote Mr. Davies.
The conservative chief of British Columbia, John Rustad, indicated on the social media that all the members of the legislative assembly “must support the neo-democratic deputy Bowinn Ma and the staff of his district office”.
“The idea that someone can trigger a machine to damage or threaten the office of a deputy (district) in one way or another is deeply worrying,” he added.
