The Mont des Arts turned into a village of Smurfs on Saturday afternoon as part of the world premiere of the feature film “Les Smurfs, Le Film” at Square, in the heart of Brussels. Young and old have gathered on the esplanade to take advantage of the family activities offered for the occasion but also and above all in the hope of seeing singer Rihanna, whose arrival announced on the blue carpet has shuddled the capital for a few days.
“Everything has been thought of for weeks to make this event a big popular celebration, free and accessible to everyone,” explains Anny Schmit, Managing Director at Paramount Pictures.
In this perspective, a multitude of activities and family entertainment have been offered since 1:30 p.m. at the foot of the steps: Silhouettists, Mascots, Grimages space, projection of soap bubbles … A dance show in the middle of the steps launched the festivities.
If many take advantage of the activities, some are working to try to find the best possible place to see the stars on the blue carpet, unrolled for the occasion from Place Royale to Square. In total, some 700 guests, Belgian and international, handpicked are expected to attend the screening.
“The Smurfs, the film” is expected in dark rooms from July 16.
