Bryan Kohberger will not be executed for having savagely murdered four students in a house in Moscow (Idaho), in November 2022. Last month, the thirty -something agreed to plead guilty, thus ecobrating a prison sentence without possibility of parole. Detainee number 163214 has taken up residence in the Maximum Idaho security prison alone, where his fellow prisoners make him live a hell.

According to the “Daily Mail”, the other prisoners spend their time screaming on Kohberger through the vents of ventilation and heating that connect the cells, day and night. “It drives him crazy. (…) They literally climb on the gate and shout on him. The detainees take turns to do so. It never stops, “says Chris McDonough, a retired investigator who now works for the Cold Case Foundation, an organization specializing in unresolved criminal business resolution.

Unlikely staff reaction

“He is extremely upset and frustrated. He complains to the authorities that he cannot sleep because of them, ”he adds. The other detainees have a bad eye for the arrival among them of Bryan Kohberger, which they target because of his notoriety and the atrocity of the crime he has committed. “Some would like nothing more than hurting him, just to make a name for himself,” said the ex-inspector.

According to McDonough, it is unlikely that the prison personnel do much to prevent prisoners from harassing Kohberger. The ex-student in criminology is kept in isolation. He is not in physical danger and therefore spends 23 hours a day alone in his cell, being entitled only to one hour of exit per day while carrying obstacles.
