Canada Posts | The parties return to the negotiation table

(Ottawa) Post Canada and the union representing 55,000 job workers return to the negotiation table on Friday.

It has been two weeks since the members of the Syndicate of Posts Workers (STTP) rejected the employer’s last offers by a majority vote.

After more than a year and a half of negotiations, the two parties met federal mediators on Tuesday and other negotiation rounds are scheduled for Friday and Monday.

The most recent offers of the Crown Company, dating from the end of May, included salary increases of around 13 % over four years and a restructuring aimed at hiring part -time workers.

Post Canada says it is impatiently waiting to receive a complete response from the union which meets the important and growing challenges with which the postal service is faced.

Meanwhile, the union maintains its national ban on overtime.
