Canadian Athletics Championships: Audrey Leduc won the 100m final

Audrey Leduc was hot at the Canadian Athletics Championships.

The Quebecer was the fastest Canadian at the 100 m, Friday evening in Ottawa, but Sade McCreath almost played a trick on her just behind her.

The reigning Canadian champion won the final with a time of 11.06, which is positioned in the Olympic standards. With this victory, Leduc qualified for the world championships, presented in Tokyo, next September.

McCreath, which was part of the Canadian delegation at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, finished second with a chrono of 11.09. Ontario gave a hard time this season in Leduc by equaling its previous Canadian record at the 100 m with a time of 10.95, last June.

The Gatinoise improved the Canadian brand two weeks ago by recording a time of 10.94.

Jacqueline Madogo finished on the third step of the podium of this final.

On Saturday, Leduc will try to keep his throne during the 200 m, where it also holds the Canadian record.

In men, Montrealers Duan Asemota was crowned at the 100m with the absence of Andre de Grasse. Asemota offered himself for a time of 10.12, just ahead of Aaron Brown at 10.13.

De Grasse, who won seven medals at the Olympic Games during his career, is struggling with a tendon injury.
