(Ecofin agency) – The announcement by Ceva Logistics of the construction of a modern logistics base near the port of Kribi illustrates the rise of this platform as a regional logistics hub. By betting on infrastructure adapted to growing flows, Cameroon seeks to better fit into the world supply chains.
The French Ceva Logistics, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM group and a major player in global logistics, launched the construction of a new logistics base in the Kribi port area, in the south of Cameroon. This project intended to support the rise of the deep water port, is part of a broader dynamic of strengthening the country’s economic attractiveness.
On a site of 30,000 m², the platform will include a storage area of 25,000 m² for import-export containers, operational in September 2025, as well as a 5,000 m² warehouse scheduled for January 2026. Ultimately, the whole will be able to accommodate up to 2,200 20-foot containers (EVP), thus meeting the growing needs of economic operators.
“This project marks a new step in our development in Central Africa” said Mehdi Ghozayel, head of the Central Africa Cluster at Ceva Logistics. Located just 2 km from the autonomous port of Kribi, the infrastructure aims to fluidify the circulation of goods and better connect Cameroon to the world logistics chains.
Already located in Douala with a 20,000 m² platform and a customs warehouse, CEVA intends to strengthen its presence on the two main port axes in the country. The group claims coverage in 170 countries, informing Invest in Cameroonwith more than 100,000 employees and a turnover of 18.3 billion USD in 2024.
