Claude Devillard: “A company can develop a lot during crises”

In 1958, during his birth, the company founded by Roland and Marie-Thérèse Devillard sold duplicators with stencils. At the time, it was the most widespread way to copy documents. Today, the Geneva SME offers digital office solutions such as printing technologies, electronic documents management and interactive screens. The paw of Claude and Marc Devillard who took the head of the company in 1987.

The two brothers announced on Tuesday that they have sold their business to two members of the management, François Pflieger and Luc Schenkel, via a management buy out (MBO). Convinced that this is the best solution to “continue this family epic”, former owners remain a minority shareholders of the company which has 125 employees and gave in 2023 a turnover of 35 million francs. The two brothers will also sit on the board of directors of a company that has taken advantage of the crises to evolve and grow. Back with Claude Devillard on a course that denies the adage affirming that the first generation builds the company, while the second would be content to keep it alive.
