“To our knowledge, our study is the first to suggest a negative impact of the regular use of AI on the ability of healthcare professionals to accomplish a relevant medical task for patients, whatever the field,” underlines Dr. Marc RomaƄczyk (Academy of Silesia, Poland). Our results are worrying, especially since the adoption of the AI in medicine develops quickly. We have an urgent need for additional research on the impact of AI on the skills of caregivers in various medical fields. It is necessary to identify the factors that can cause or worsen problems when health professionals and AI systems do not collaborate effectively, and develop solutions to correct or improve these interactions. »»

Researchers, however, recognize limits to their work, in particular their observational character; Other factors could have influenced the results.
