A 33-year-old suspect who resisted his arrest for assault in a context of violence had to be mastered with the use of Cayenne pepper in the Val-Bélair sector.
It was around 7:20 am on Tuesday morning that the agents of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) had to intervene in a housing in rue des Calèches.
A 25 -year -old woman has undergone assault on the part of a man who had already left the premises when the authorities arrived. But the police were still on site when he returned to the scene of the event.
“The latter […] is not collaborative with the police. The agents must then use Cayenne pepper in order to master it and arrest it, ”says Pierre-Olivier Lévesque, spokesperson for the SPVQ.
The 30 -year -old was arrested for assault, threats, prescription breaks, hindrance and theft of less than $ 5,000.
Detained, he must appear later Tuesday at the Quebec courthouse.
