The announcement of a video game for the PS5 entitled Titanic Escape Simulatorscheduled in 2026, has reacted highly the Internet users for several weeks. The first images of the game are also suspected of having been generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
Développé par tetyana vysochanska, Titanic Escape Simulator was revealed in a rather atypical way. The game was not announced by a recognized media of video games or as part of an official presentation of PlayStation. Rather, these are Facebook and Instagram pages of viral content, often sponsored, that have shared images accompanied by an advertising message or the description taken from the PlayStation Store:
“April 14, 1912. You withdraw from your cabin on the majestic RMS Titanic. A few hours later, a worrying shiver wakes you up with a start. Insubmersible encountered the impossible.
Relive the most famous maritime disaster in history through an immersive survival game in the first person, “he registered. And to finish: “Hear the cries in the distance, the metal that groans and the musicians play until the last breath.”

The game claims to offer a meticulous reconstruction of the Titanic, with a dynamic environment that evolves over the sinking. A concept which, despite its ambition, above all aroused indignation.
“Imagine these dead people knowing that their tragic end would be transformed into a video game just over a century later.”
“As long as we do, that we also create a Titan simulator while we are there, story that I can implode too.”
“Imagine die in the Titanic and, a hundred years later, see your tragedy becoming a ***** video game.”
Some of the pages that have published the images of the game have collected more than 70,000 reactions. A typical “rage bait” strategy, this type of content designed to cause indignation and maximize interactions.
The catch is that the images seem to have been generated by artificial intelligence, point out internet users. When you look closer, you see strange curves and a precise lack of details.

One of the images that makes the most react is that where we see a canvas with a lamp fixed to the wall that crosses it:

In addition, there is no “gameplay” video where you can really see the game in action. By examining the trailer, the comments on YouTube are almost unanimous: the extracts seem to have been generated by the AI.

And doubt increases when consulting the developer’s file. Tetyana Vysochanska would have launched 17 games in 2024 only, all of which received very negative assessments. Some Internet users accuse the studio of “shovelware”, that is to say to quickly produce low quality games in order to generate easy sales.

Titanic Escape Simulator raises questions about how certain historical events are suitable for video games, as well as the quality of productions that are invading the market today. It remains to be seen whether the game will confirm its ambitions once you will see images of authentic “gameplay” revealed, or if it will only remain a controversial project carried by the controversy.
