SuisseCoop excludes the big races of its self-service funds
To limit waiting times, Coop will prohibit access to automatic funds to customers with a cart. Migros does not intend to do the same.

These funds will soon be reserved for small purchases.
20min/readerLanding with its Caddy with self-service boxes after shopping at the Coop, it will soon be possible. The technology, introduced 12 years ago, is no longer suitable as it is the retailer. After carrying out tests throughout Switzerland, Coop is soon to generalize this ban, the newspapers of the CH-Media group revealed on Friday.
Clearly, carts will no longer be accepted in these boxes without sellers. The followers of the Passabene system – namely the scan of the races as they go – will however be able to continue to pass there, whatever the volume of purchase.
Unclog the boxes during rush hour
According to Coop, this measure aims to avoid traffic jams that can train when customers try to scan a whole caddy, especially during peak hours. The brand denies any relationship with an upsurge in flights to these automatic funds. She also assures that customers will be warned as soon as stores are entryed and oriented if necessary, to traditional funds.
Contacted, Migros assured his side not thinking of such a change. The orange giant says it wants to maintain freedom of choice for its customers, still recalling in passing that the self-service funds are above all thought of for small purchases.
