Microsoft strives to improve Copilot, his IA tool suite integrated in Windows, adding to him ever more practical features to save time for the use of your PC.
It was last May, when its new surface devices were announced, that Microsoft unveiled a major update for Copilot on Windows 11. They were so far reserved for Windows Insiders members and are now deployed for the rest of the users.
On the program, an update that breathes AI into settings, research, photo editing and even screenshot. Overview.
Find and change your Windows settings thanks to Copilot
We regretted the absence of a feature linked to Windows settings in Copilot when it launched a little over a year ago.
This update now allows you to adjust any system parameter via a textual query in the research field. It is thus possible to activate the night mode, change the definition of your screen or change the size of the text by simply asking Copilot to do it.
The parameter will then be directly offered and can be activated or deactivated depending on the choice of the user. It is no longer necessary to navigate in the different menus to find your happiness.
Note that the functionality is currently only available for PC Copilot+ in English, with availability for other languages still not announced. We hope by the end of the year.
Click to do becomes even smarter
The Click to Do functionality offers you contextual actions from the content displayed on the screen, whether textual or visual.
With this new update, Click To Do is now capable of very practical new actions. The Reading Coach functionality allows you to train you read aloud, with advice to improve your diction.
You can also display any text in a “immersive” and without distractions to facilitate reading. Click to do will allow you to adjust the size, the police, but also the background color.
Finally, Click To Do allows you to transform any text into a draft in Word, but also any email address to contact a person in Microsoft Teams.
Better photos and screenshots
Copilot now helps you take the best screenshot possible by suggesting a crop according to the most relevant elements of your capture. The user can always modify the selection after the Copilot proposal to adjust the final result.
The Photos Application is enriched by the Rel’s functionality which allows you to add up to three virtual light sources to any photo. It will then be possible to modify the angle of these light sources, their intensity or even their shade.
Finally, Paint now allows users to generate stickers via a quick classic in software. You can then insert it into your creations or use it in other applications.
Note that a new object selection tool now uses AI to allow you to select any item from an image to modify it, as if it had its layer.
Available for ARM PCs first
As with many new Copilot features, these new features are first deployed within PCs with Snapdragon X chip from Qualcomm.
They will arrive in the coming months for Copilot PCs equipped with Intel and AMD processors.
