The crash left 179 dead. Only a hostess and a steward have survived.
“Deeply indignant”
The South Korean Ministry of the Territory, Infrastructure and Transport told AFP that it had planned to publish the partial conclusions of the crash survey this weekend.
He nevertheless canceled an information meeting and chose to retain the report after the families opposed it, saying that he could mislead.

The report indicates that a collision with a bird has damaged the right engine of the plane, but that the pilot has mistakenly cut the left engine, told AFP Kim Youn-Mi, which represents the families, and read the document.
“We have not received any adequate explanation on this subject,” she added.
The Jeju Air pilots’ union also criticized the report, saying that it was “deeply indignant” by the conclusions and that it would “firmly reject the malicious attempt to have the pilot carried responsibility”.
A collision with birds or even the defect of the landing gear are tracks mentioned to explain the crash. The wall against which the plane crashed is also in question.
The final report should be published in June 2026.
