The Radix Foundation was the victim of a ransomiciel attack, with theft and encryption of sensitive data, some of which are linked to federal services. The Federal Cybersecurity Office (OFCS) coordinates the analysis and security measures.
The Swiss Radix Foundation, active in the health field, has recently been the victim of a ransomical attack. Criminals have stolen and encrypted sensitive data, including information related to federal services, before publishing it on the Darknet. Although the Federal Administration has not been directly assigned, the Federal Cybersecurity Office (OFCS) immediately coordinated the need for the incident and the necessary security measures.
The attack, claimed by the Sarcoma group, would have involved the extraction of approximately 2 TB of sensitive data. The criminals threatened to make this information public on June 26, 2025, unless the foundation yields to their requirements.
As soon as the incident was discovered, the Radix foundation alerted the OFCS. Access to compromise data was quickly blocked and thanks to intact backups, the data could be restored, thus ensuring their integrity.
Analysis and measures taken by OFCS
The customers of the RADIX Foundation includes several administrative units of the federal administration, which requires an in -depth analysis of the data potentially affected by the attack. In collaboration with the Foundation, the OFCS examines the services and data concerned. The pirates did not have access to the internal systems of the federal administration, the foundation having no direct access to the latter.
The competent authorities and the administrative units involved work alongside the Radix Foundation to reduce the impact of the incident. New information will be made available to the public as the situation is changed, added the press release.
