A scorching south under surveillance, a more breathable north
The day will be marked by a generous sun throughout the territory. If the North and East benefit from softer and pleasant temperatures (25 to 30 ° C), the heat wave remains well present in the south, with points up to 40 ° C from the Southwest to the Mediterranean. Mistral and tramontane blow strongly, especially in Provence and Occitania, contributing to a good dispersion of pollens in the air. Note: thunderstorms break out at the end of the afternoon on the Alps, locally limiting the concentrations.
Urticaceous pollens largely dominate the ambient air
According to the last measures, these are the Urticaceous Pollens (Netties in particular) which are essential as the most present throughout the territory. The associated allergic risk is high (level 4/5) On all regions, without exception, with an expected peak in areas where heat remains strong and dry air promotes their dispersion.
The other species are set back, with some traces of Pollens of Ambroisie In the center-east (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), but for the time being at very low levels.
The grasses, traditionally problematic in the spring, are in clear decrease and no longer cause major discomfort.
High allergic risk for sensitive people
Urticaceous allergies can feel the classic effects: rhinitis, sneezing in salvo, irritation of the eyes or throat. These symptoms can be accentuated in the south where hot and dry air, coupled with sustained winds, increases the breathable pollen load.
The right gestures to adopt against pollens
Avoid ventilating in the middle of the day, especially between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., period of pollinant peaks.
Rinse your hair in the evening to eliminate accumulated pollens.
By car, ride closed windows and use air conditioning with suitable filters.
See regularly the bulletins to adapt your activities outdoors.
