Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 is available in Intel and AMD versions. Intel options include the Lunar Lake Core Ultra 5 226V or Ultra 9 288V while AMD options include Zen 5 Ryzen AI 5,540 or Ryzen AI 7 350. Although all options share the same 1200p touch screen and the same external design, there are major differences between them in terms of performance and ports.
Users who favor the performance of multithread processors can consider AMD options because Ryzen AI 7,350 can be more than 30 % faster than Core Ultra 9 2888V. In addition to this advantage, the Intel model offers many other advantages, including a longer battery life, higher performance by WATT and much faster integrated graphic performance with the Arc 140V model compared to the 860m Radeon.
Another neglected advantage of Intel options is the management of HDMI 2.1 and the Thunderbolt 4 to 40 GBPS, while the DELL 14 Plus 2-in-1 AMD models are limited to HDMI 1.4 and the USB-C at 10 GBPS. Users who intend to connect 4K monitors external to their laptops will therefore have to consider an Intel configuration to benefit from the best management of monitors.
