After deleting the XPS 15 in CES 2024 and having replaced it with the XPS 16DELL got rid of the XPS brand this year. Dell 16 Premium is the successor to XPS 16. Unlike Dell 14 Premiumqui, inexplicably, had no GPU RTX 50, the Dell 16 Premium is equipped with recent components of Intel and Nvidia.
Like its latest generation counterpart, you can choose between an OLED 4K slab (3,840 x 2,400) and an IPS 2K LCD slab (1,920 x 1,200) for its screen. The two have a refresh rate ranging from 30 Hz to 120 Hz. A battery of 99.9 Wh feeds the Dell 16 Premium, and Dell includes a 130 Watts charger in the box, regardless of the choice of equipment.
Dell offers the 16 Premium with the Intel Core Ultra 7 255Hcore Ultra 7 265H processor and Core Ultra 9 285h Arrow Lake. They can be associated with a GeForce RTX 5050 (45 WATTS), RTX 5060 (45 WATTS) and RTX 5070 (55 WATTS) card. Users who do not need a DGPU can opt for an Intel Arc 140T. However, only the RTX 5060 variant will be available immediately, the other UGS before surfaced later.
Users can choose between 64 GB of memory DDR5-7647 or DDR5-8400. This last configuration (64 GB of DDR5-8400) is only available with a DGPU. You can associate it with an SSD PCIe Gen 4 disc with a maximum capacity of 4 TB. Wireless connectivity options of Dell 16 Premium include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. A 1080p webcam with Windows Hello feature is also included.
Once again, Dell does not offer much in terms of I/O. The RTX 5060/5050 models are limited to three Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, while the RTX 5070 variant has three Thunderbolt 5.0 ports. Fortunately, a microSDXC card is included, as well as a 3.5 mm audio socket. Dell 16 Premium (RTX 5060 variant only) is now available for purchase, from $ 2,699.99.
