Died at 71: the career and life of the Hulk Hogan wrestling icon in striking photos

Star as undisputed as they are colorful of the struggle, Hulk Hogan died on ThursdayTMZ reported. Also an actor and even a singer, the imposing man with a blonde mustache will have marked the imagination far beyond the ring. Here is a portrait of a few moments of the eventful life of the American in photos, in Quebec as elsewhere.

The man who was tearing his
chemise camisole

He got used to it early in his career. To show his prominent muscles, Hogan was tearing his camisole during his entrances. It became his signature and he continued tradition to the republican convention in which he took part in Milwaukee in July 2024. Under his black camisole was another, red, on which we could read the names of Donald Trump and JD Vance, who were going to be elected president and vice-president a few months later.

A fight against Jacques Rougeau in Montreal

The Quebec wrestler has already described the evening as the “most triple of his life”. At the time, both red and Hogan are not at best with the organization for which they are fighting. The first asks the second if he would agree to face him in Montreal. To its surprise, the SuperVedette accepts. The fight, preceded by spectacular promotions in which the two wrestlers distribute themselves from slaps to the face, will take place on April 11, 1997 at the Molson Center. Hogan offers another surprise in Rougeau: he agrees to lose the fight.

Remarkable passages (and one more tragic) at the forum

The Hulkman The Montreal Forum was landed a few times, where the wrestler was running the crowds. He notably fought against Earthquake, in December 1990, as we saw in the first photo. But his presence in 1989 had taken a more tragic turn: in a fight between Hogan, Jim Duggan and Ronnie Garvin to the Brothers Rougeau and Dino Bravo, the latter is disqualified for having extended his take of the bear at the expense of the SuperVedette. Hogan remains extended in the ring, in bad shape, and must leave the arena on ambulance.

On July 18, 2024, Hogan delivered a speech in support of Donald Trump, as part of the Republican Convention which takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The wrestler qualifies Trump as “heroes” and says he wishes his return to the head of the country, so that he “brings America together, a real American at the same time”.

The dad of a singer, of more passage to music

Hogan’s daughter Brooke launched two albums combining rap and R&B, in addition to participating in the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best, known here under the title Hogan a raison. On December 5, 2006, the wrestler and his daughter – now 37 years old – gave a short press conference in the premises of the deceased Music Plus.

The Florida Hulk Hogan was clearly visible during the Tampa Bay Lightning course until the Stanley Cup in 2004. His daughter, Brooke, sang the national anthem sometimes before the home games while Hogan was making a warming up the crowd. A third wedding at 70

At 70, in December 2023, Hulk Hogan married the third time in Clearwater, Florida, where he lived. The name of her new wife is Sky Daily and she is 45 years old at the time of their wedding. The wrestler and the yoga coach united their destiny during an intimate ceremony held in a Baptist church, in the presence of families close to the two spouses, but in the absence of his daughter Brooke, born from his first union.
