DIRECT. Tour de France 2025: The final battle Pogacar - Vingegaard in La Plagne and in the rain, the 19th Step

The 19th stage of the Tour de France was shortened by several tens of kilometers, giving way to a real race sprint this July 25.

And immediately

16:39 – Roglic caught (21km)

Roglic’s lonely walk ended, the peloton has just caught up with him just before the start of the plague

16:33 – The gap is reduced (28km)

The peloton grabbed precious seconds on Primoz Roglic, the junction is imminent, more than 20 seconds apart between them

16:29 – The French caught up in the peloton (30km)

Valentin Paret-Peintre and Lenny Martinez are caught up by the peloton while Roglic went solo for the end of the stage

16:24 – Vauquelin at 1’10 “of the yellow jersey group

Kevin Vauquelin is in big difficulty, his 7th place is in danger. It is 1’10 “behind the peloton and two minutes on Roglic

16:23 – A very technical descent (35km)

While the rain redoubled in intensity, Primoz Roglic confirms that it is very comfortable in this descent

16:17 – Roglic takes off (44km)

Excellent descendant, Primoz Roglic easily won Valentin Paret Painter and Lenny Martinez on the descent. It is now 10 seconds in advance

16:13 – The K -Way for everyone (46km)

With the appearance of the first rain drops and colder temperatures, several runners are distributed vests and K-Way to understand the end of the stage

16:09 – Lenny Martinez heads the Roselend Cornet (50km)

While we thought it was dropped by the head duo, Lenny Martinez came back in mind just before the passage of the Roselend Cornet. He pockets 5 additional points for the mountain ranking

16:07 – Lenny Martinez did not say her last word (52km)

As he seemed to be dropped, Lenny Martinez made the effort to return to Roglic and Paret-Pintre 1 km from the summit of Roselend Cornet

16:04 – Lenny Martinez gets up (53km)

Lenny Martinez can no longer keep the pace of her two escape partners (Roglic and Paret-Pintre). There are therefore only two men in mind

16:01 – The passage to the Roselend dam (54km)

Below a small video passage of the peloton at the Roselend dam

15:56 – The peloton is getting closer to the head (56km)

Thanks to a big job from UAE Emirates, the peloton returns to 26 seconds from the head trio 5 km from the second summit (Roseland Cornet)

15:52 – Vauquelin distant (58km)

Kevin Vauquelin is in big difficulty in the back of the peloton. His seventh place is in danger

15:49 – 53 seconds ahead of the peloton (60km)

The three head men, Lenny Martinez, Valentin Paret-Peintre and Primoz Roglic are 53 seconds ahead of the peloton 60km from the finish

For this new edition, still eagerly awaited, the North was honored with a big departure in Lille on Saturday July 5 for a stage organized 100% around the metropolis. The peloton then stayed in the North for several days with a second stage which arrived in Boulogne sur Mer then in Dunkirk on Monday, July 7. Who says North, says the cobblestones? Well no, the organizers decided to do without sectors.

Nine years after its passage, Normandy was also honored with two stages including one against the watch in the streets of Caen. The city of Vire will host the arrival of the 6th stage. The tour then went to Brittany with a new passage to the famous ripe-Brittany. The Massif Central was then on the program before a first break on July 15. The second part of the Tour promises to be Dantesque with an arrival in Hautacam, a Loudenvielle-Peyragudes time trial which risks doing damage before an XXL stage, concluded in Luchon-Superbagnères via the Tourmalet, the Col d’Aspin and the Col de Peyresourde …

The third week featured the Alps with the comeback of Mont Ventoux on July 22. The Tour de France had not been on the legendary summit since 2016, when, remember, Christopher Froome had finished the ascent on foot. The next day, the peloton raised the Rhône valley in an accidental stage between Bollène and Valence before attacking a very mountainous final line, with an 18th stage between the agglomeration of Grenoble and the Courchevel station with the appalling Col de la Loze and its three outdoor passes which will be the queen of the Tour with more than 5000 meters of ascension. Finally, no Olympic Games this year, the Tour will find its last traditional step with an arrival on avenue des Champs Elysées.
