The meeting will take place in Anchorage, the main city of Alaska, on the American military base of Elmendorf-Richardson, a site whose strategic importance had culminated during the Second World War and then the Cold War.
The site has more than 6,000 soldiers, 800 buildings and two tender tracks, according to the Pacific air forces website.
Alaska is a small end of the United States at the gates of Russia, from which it is separated by the Strait of Bering. Recall that this American territory is an old possession of the Tsars Empire, from which it was bought in 1867.
