Anchorage, Alaska – eyes around the world are riveted on anchorage, where the future of Ukraine is taking shape, thousands of kilometers away.
On the eve of the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, scheduled for Friday, the city displayed a rather serene, imperturbable image. How not to bow before these majestic mountains which surround the city?
In the city center, no sign indicated that this place was about to receive the strong man from Moscow. The Trump-Puttine meeting will be without drum or trumpet at the highly secure military base of Elmendorf-Richardson.
The city center was rather empty, apart from a few homeless who wandered here and there, tourists and the multitude of foreign journalists gathered at the Congress Center.
