A couple and their daughter shot in the Alps: the privileged “family drama”. The track of a “family drama” was privileged after the discovery of a couple of septuagenarians and their daughter, found dead on Sunday killed by bullets at their home in a village in Hautes-Alpes, the Gap prosecutor’s office said on Monday.
“The first observations, by the technicians in criminal investigation and the medical examiner, as well as the first testimonies, make it possible to direct the investigation towards a family drama: a double homicide of the two women, followed by the suicide of the author,” the prosecutor Marion Lozac’hmeur said.
An investigation was opened
The “open openness of the voluntary homicide chief continues”, in order to “better understand the circumstances and the context of the facts,” added the magistrate, adding that the autopsy of the bodies will be diligent on Wednesday. It was entrusted to the research brigade of the Gap gendarmerie company. In the early evening Sunday, the rescue services were alerted to the discovery of the couple’s bodies and their daughter, born in 1990, at their home located in the small town of La Bâtie-Neuve, by a family member, according to the same source.
The prosecution, the gendarmerie, the technicians in criminal investigation and a medical examiner had immediately went on the spot. Located in the south of the Hautes-Alpes near the ski resorts and the very tourist lake of Serre-Ponçon, La Bâtie-Neuve has some 2,600 inhabitants. The locality and its hamlets extend over a large area at an altitude ranging from 800 m to 2,400 m.
