The Israeli army said on Saturday that it had struck a Hezbollah site in the Naqoura region in southern Lebanon during the night.
“This site was used by the ‘Force Radouane’ of Hezbollah to carry out terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians and constitutes a blatant violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” the army said in a statement published in the aftermath of a warning by the Minister of Israeli Defense, Israel Katz.
The army clarified having obtained information on this site “, especially following the interrogation of a Hezbollah terrorist.”
During the night, the army also announced that it had struck a “Hezbollah terrorist” in southern Lebanon, without giving more details.
Friday, the Minister of Israeli Defense, Israel Katz, warned the Lebanese Shiite movement, “advising” him to avoid intervening in the war with Iran.
Israel launched an offensive on Iran just over a week ago, while his army continued to lead series of sporadic strikes on Lebanon, mainly in the south of the country, indicating to target the Lebanese movement.
After more than a year of light exchanges followed by two months of open war between Israel and Hezbollah, a cease-fire agreement entered into force on November 27.
Armed and funded by Iran, Hezbollah came out of this war.
By virtue of the ceasefire, the Lebanese formation was to withdraw its forces and dismantle any military infrastructure south of the Litani river, about thirty kilometers from the Israeli border, and Israel withdraw its forces from the Lebanese soil.
But the Israeli army maintains five border positions which it deems “strategic” and leads almost quasi-quota of strikes in Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah.
Hezbollah had opened a front in early October 2023 by pulling rockets from southern Lebanon in northern Israel, saying to act in support of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
