In terms of parking for electric cars, the TCS shows that the differences are important, both between cities and the parking lots of the same city.
The TCS has examined forty car parks for electric cars in the eight largest Swiss cities.

Forty car parks equipped for electric cars in the eight largest Swiss cities have been examined.
Lausanne and Geneva: “recommended”
Zurich seizes the first place of the first place in the national classification, with “a constant quality in all its parking lots: clear signage, sufficient boundaries, modern and easily accessible equipment”. Even better: the terminals are equipped with charging cables. In total, only 10 of the 40 installations tested in the country offer this added value.
In Bern, the parking lot located near the station occupies the last place in the ranking and therefore draws the whole down. In the capital, which ranks third, only one charging station is announced on the internet, but it has proven to be found during the TCS test.
A maximum of 100 points could be obtained by parking. The “excellent” mention would have been awarded from 80 points.
TCSGeneva and Lausanne rise respectively in the fifth and sixth place. Plainpalais, Balexert, Cornavin or Indigo Center -Flon, Riponne and Métropole have been analyzed. “Some car parks are well equipped, but others have serious shortcomings. This heterogeneity impacts the average note of these cities, ”comments Jordan Girod, spokesperson for the TCS.
Saint-Gall closes the march. The overwhelming majority of the parking lots tested does not clearly meet the demand, according to the TCS, and several of them even offer any charging station.

“It would take much more recharge possibilities to meet the needs of a car fleet made up of 4% electric cars,” said the TCS. And, “to improve the parking experience, an effort by operators is necessary”. The Touring Club Switzerland notably recommends that payment via Twint or Credit Card is possible everywhere, and suggest that cities provide the Internet an overview of charging stations.
But according to Jordan Girod, nothing is final. “Switzerland has more than 16,500 public charging stations. The Confederation aims at 20,000 points by the end of 2025. The situation noted to date is called upon to evolve in the coming months and years, “he concludes.
