Elon Musk’s Starlink network has returned to work after a global internet breakdown Thursday evening

The Starlink network services resumed work this Friday morning after a major internet breakdown the day before. “”The connection problem has been resolved, access to Starlink services has been restored“, Declares the company in X.

Elon Musk’s Starlink network has undergone a world failure on Thursday evening that has deprived thousands of Internet users, according to some information. The problems began to be reported Thursday around 9 p.m. (central Europe time).

Over 60,000 problems have been reported on the Down Detector website, the majority of users reporting a “total breakdown”.

It is not yet known whether the breakdown is generalized or what is the reason. Starlink users on X reported Problems in Europe, the United States, Africa, Asia and Australiaespecially in Colombia, Sardinia (Italy), Stockholm (Sweden) and New Hampshire (United States).

Many of them said that their connections were offline and that an error message indicated that there was “no healthy upstream”.

Musk wrote on X: “The service will be restored shortly. Sorry for the breakdown. SpaceX will remedy the primary cause to make sure that it does not happen again“.

Some countries and governments, includingUkrainian armydepend on Starlink for their access to the Internet. It is not known to what extent they will be affected.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is a telecommunications supplier that is part of the company SpaceX the musk.

The satellite internet constellation provides global mobile access to approximately 130 countries and territories.

The company plans to have 12,000 satellites and aims to have more than 34,000 in the long term.

Earlier in Thursday, SpaceX said that its direct cellular telephony service developed rapidly, the day after the launch of the Starlink satellite service in T-Mobile.
