Explosion in an explosive factory: 9 dead
An explosive material production site has been destroyed near Curitiba. Six men and three women were killed.

Six men and three women, initially declared missing, died during an accidental explosion on Tuesday in an explosive materials factory in southern Brazil, the authorities announced.
The accident occurred around 6 am local time, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, capital of the state of paraná, according to the spokesperson for the firefighters, Luisana Guimaraes. The images broadcast by the firefighters, after having controlled the fire, showed a huge land strewn with debris.
“There is no longer any hope of finding survivors among these nine people who were there,” Colonel Hudson, Secretary of State for Public Security, told the press.
For several hours, dog -helped rescuers participated in research. Seven injured were taken care of in neighboring hospitals.
Investigation
“The explosion area was destroyed. Within a radius of about 1.5 km, houses were affected, with broken windows, damaged structures, a huge shock wave, “said the spokesperson.
The causes of the accident are the subject of an investigation, said the managers of the company Enaex Brasil, owner of the factory, at a press conference.
The company implements an emergency plan to provide psychological support to the victims and their families, they added. According to the authorities, the inhabitants of several neighboring localities heard the detonation.
